Police have confirmed seizing of a letter believed to be the 'final note' written by the suspect accused of fatally stabbing a female student at a school in Petaling Jaya yesterday, 14 October

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the note was discovered during the arrest and initial screening of the suspect, reported the New Straits Times.

"The letter was found on the suspect during his arrest, not in the toilet where the murder took place.

"The note is being analysed by the investigating officer," he said in a press conference today, 15 October.

Shazeli also revealed that police believe the suspect had intended to kill the victim.

"Based on the stab wounds, we believe there were indeed intentions (to kill)," he added.

Photos of the two-page handwritten note have been circulating on social media today, leaving many netizens horrified by its content

The note, written mainly in Mandarin with a few English phrases, referenced at least four mass school shootings in the US from the late 1990s to the early 2020s.

A common thread among these references is that each incident involved over a dozen casualties.

"This is indeed very dark," commented a Facebook user, while other netizens accused the suspect, who mentioned NPCs, of being obsessed with games.

"We shouldn't share this lah, this is exactly what the suspect wants. He is seeking notoriety. It is apparent from the way he wrote the note," warned a netizen.

In the US, media outlets have long debated whether to publish a mass shooter's manifesto. Some experts argue that releasing it gives the perpetrator notoriety, while withholding it can prevent glorification, reduce the risk of copycat attacks, and show respect for the victims.
