A tragic incident unfolded at a national secondary school in Bandar Utama 4 in Petaling Jaya this morning, 14 October, when a 14-year-old student stabbed a senior to death during school hours
The incident happened at around 9.30am, when the Form Two boy is believed to have brought a large, black tactical-style knife to school and attacked several students before fatally stabbing a 16-year-old Form Four girl outside a classroom.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that the 14-year-old suspect has been arrested, reported The Star.
"The victim died at the scene. The stabbing occurred right outside a classroom," he was quoted as saying by the English daily.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the girl was found in the school toilet.
"Preliminary checks showed that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the body. The actual number of injuries will be confirmed following a post-mortem examination at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) later today," he told reporters at the scene.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, but investigations are ongoing
"We have not established the motive behind the incident," Mohd Khalid said.
As of noon, Shamsudin and a team of investigators were still at the scene gathering evidence and recording witness statements.
The large knife with its sheath that was seen on the ground near a student was confiscated with another sharp weapon, and the school has been cordoned off to allow for forensic work, reported the New Straits Times.
Authorities confirmed that an autopsy will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar is expected to issue a full statement later today.
