The police have released new details about the Bandar Utama school stabbing case, stating that the suspect is believed not to have expressed his feelings for the victim

According to Harian Metro, Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said investigations showed the 14-year-old suspect had harboured feelings for the 16-year-old girl.

"Based on the investigation so far, we believe the suspect had feelings for the victim but never expressed them to her.

"This appears to be a case of suppressed emotions," Shazeli said in a press conference today, 15 October.

He added that investigations revealed the two had no prior relationship or interaction before the fatal incident, as they were from different classes and of different ages.

Shazeli said police now believe that emotional impulses and social media influence were key factors behind the suspect's motive

He said there were no signs indicating that the suspect suffered from any mental illness, but he will be referred for a psychiatric evaluation once the investigation is completed, reported the New Straits Times.

Investigations also revealed that the suspect had no prior disciplinary record at school.

Yesterday, 14 October, police said the case would be investigated from the angle of whether the attack was driven by anger or resentment after the victim reportedly rejected the suspect's romantic advances.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the claims had been circulating on social media.
