A woman in a polygamous marriage has been charged with distributing, threatening, and possessing obscene images of her husband's second wife
According to FMT, the accused, Herni Sofini Omar, is a 53-year-old investment agent.
During court proceedings in Melaka today, 2 July, she pleaded not guilty to three charges before Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani.
Herni was charged under Sections 509, 507, and 292 of the Penal Code for insulting a person's modesty, criminal intimidation, and possessing or distributing obscene images, respectively.
If convicted, she faces a maximum jail term of seven years.

The first two offences were allegedly committed at a house in Taman Sayang Selasih, Melaka at about 2pm on 27 March.
For the third offence, Herni was allegedly found in possession of lewd photos of the complainant on her mobile phone at the Melaka Tengah district police headquarters, reported Harian Metro.
The prosecutor proposed bail at RM24,000 for all charges with one surety. However, the defence lawyer appealed for a reduction to RM4,000, citing that Herni was recently diagnosed with cancer, and is a self-employed mother supporting four children.
The lawyer added that Herni's husband had abandoned her and that she had been fully cooperative with the police, indicating that she posed no flight risk.
The court subsequently set bail at RM5,000 with one surety. The case has been fixed for mention on 6 August.
