Cops Release Suspect’s Photo In Murder Case Where Penang Man Was Found Stuffed In Suitcase

Three of the four suspects detained earlier have been released on bail, while one remains under remand for further investigation.

Police are looking for a man to assist in the murder investigation of an insurance agent, whose body was discovered bound and suffocated inside a suitcase earlier this month

Earlier today, 28 October, North Seberang Perai District Police Headquarters released the photo of a 41-year-old local man, Ong Wei Hao.

He is being sought to assist in the investigation into the murder of Lee Wen Han, also known as Daniel Han Lee, who was found stuffed inside a suitcase behind the Ampang Jajar flats in Butterworth.

Seberang Perai Utara district police chief ACP Anuar Abd Rahman said Ong's last known address was A-7-07, Villa Tanjung, Jalan Villa Tanjung, Butterworth, and that he is wanted in connection with the case being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police are urging anyone with information on Ong's whereabouts to contact ASP Norhaslinda bt Rahmat at 04-5762222 (ext. 2275) or approach the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, three of the four suspects previously detained were released on bail after their seven-day remand ended

They were released under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code, while one suspect's remand was extended to assist with further investigations.

The 31-year-old victim was found dead inside a suitcase on 9 October along Jalan Permatang Pauh.

His neck had slash wounds, his hands were bound, and his face was covered with a plastic bag. The body was discovered by a drain maintenance worker around 1.43pm.

Lee had been missing since 7 October.
