A body found stuffed inside a suitcase behind an apartment block in Ampang Jajar, Butterworth, has been confirmed to be that of a 31-year-old insurance agent, who was reported missing earlier this week
The victim has been identified as Lee Wen Han (also known as Daniel Han Lee). His father, accompanied by two friends, identified the body at the Seberang Jaya Hospital mortuary this morning, 10 October.
Family members had gone to the hospital last night but were unable to identify the body as the post-mortem was still underway, according to China Press.
Sin Chew Daily reported that after the body's identification, Lee's father and relatives left the mortuary distraught. Police have not yet released further details, and the family has declined to speak to the media.
Lee's car, identification card, and personal belongings have yet to be found. Police are continuing their investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The gruesome discovery was made around 1.43pm yesterday, 9 October, when a cleaner found a suspicious suitcase behind the Ampang Jajar flats and alerted authorities
According to reports, forensic officers found that the victim's throat had been slashed, his hands tied, and his head covered with a plastic bag.
They believe he was killed recently before being stuffed inside the suitcase and left at the scene.
Police are still probing whether Lee was murdered elsewhere before his body was dumped in Butterworth.

Lee was last heard from in the early hours of Tuesday morning, when a message was sent from his phone to his mother claiming he was heading to Perlis for work and might return late
His family, however, believes he did not send the message, as he had been uncontactable since Tuesday afternoon.
His phone had remained switched off, and he had not responded to any messages in family or work group chats.
Before going missing, Lee was wearing a grey shirt and black trousers and was driving a Toyota Vios with the registration number PPP 3135.
A check by SAYS found that his last public activity on Facebook was on Monday afternoon, 6 October, when he shared a motivational post.
