Police Arrest Daughters Of Suspect In The Dismembered Woman Found Near Supermarket Case

Police have detained two more individuals, both daughters of the main suspect, to assist in the investigation into the gruesome murder of a woman
The woman's body was dismembered and discarded at several rubbish disposal sites near a supermarket in Taman Indah Permai, Manggatal, Kota Kinabalu, on 12 February.
Acting Kota Kinabalu district police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said the two latest arrests involved two local women aged 29 and 21, who were detained in the Sepanggar and Inanam areas on Sunday, 15 February.

Earlier, a 71-year-old local man, believed to be the main suspect, was detained on 12 February at the Emergency Unit of Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
Later the same night, a 19-year-old local man, believed to be the main suspect's son, was arrested in Sepanggar.
Police said the two women are the children of the main suspect.
"Both women are the daughters of the main suspect in this case. They have been detained to assist in the investigation regarding their involvement and knowledge of the incident," he said in a statement.
Syed Lot said police also seized several items believed to be linked to the case, including: mobile phones, clothing, a pair of gloves, a parang measuring approximately 27 inches, and a Nissan X-Trail vehicle.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder
Police said preliminary investigations indicate the motive was jealousy, which allegedly escalated into an argument between the suspect and the victim before the killing.
The victim is believed to be a woman in her 40s.
