Police have discovered a human head and torso believed to be that of a woman

The gruesome find follows an earlier discovery of a severed arm and leg at garbage disposal sites near a supermarket in Taman Indah Permai, Kota Kinabalu, earlier this morning, 12 February.

The head and torso were found at about 11.40am at a garbage disposal area near the supermarket, several hours after the initial discovery of dismembered limbs nearby, reported the New Straits Times.

Earlier, around 6.30am, a garbage collector was loading waste into his truck when a human arm fell out of a rubbish bin, shocking workers at the site

Upon further inspection, they found a human leg, extending from foot to thigh.

Following the discovery, police inspected other waste disposal areas and garbage trucks in the vicinity. Authorities are still searching for two missing body parts: a right arm and a left leg.

Police have yet to disclose the victim's identity or how the body parts were disposed of

Acting district police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.

"Updates will be announced as the investigation continues," he told the media.
