According to Serdang district police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad, the confrontation began when the driver pulled over by the roadside

The driver, a security guard, was then confronted by a group of almost 30 motorcyclists, with one questioning if he and his friend were police officers after seeing him on the phone.

"He got on his phone and pretended to call the police. One of the riders asked whether he and his friend were officers. Feeling uneasy, the driver quickly drove off, only to be chased by the group," Farid said.

What followed was a dangerous pursuit that was filmed by one of the riders themselves and later uploaded online

The video shows several motorcyclists surrounding the Perodua Myvi, with at least one rider repeatedly kicking the vehicle and damaging its side mirror.

Following police investigations, nine local youths aged 13 to 21 were arrested between 28 and 29 September in Puchong and Shah Alam.

Six of them are minors.

All nine suspects have been remanded for four days until 3 October. Police also seized three motorcycles believed to have been used during the incident.

The case is being investigated under Sections 279 and 427 of the Penal Code for reckless driving and committing mischief.

Farid urged the public to report any crime-related information to the authorities and reminded road users to act responsibly.
