A video recently went viral on TikTok showing a monitor lizard trying to enter the gate of Sekolah Kebangsaan (P) Jalan Batu
TikTok user @ria_tamrin posted a video on 7 July, of the creature moving erratically near a gate, filmed from inside the car she was in.

In the video, they were bewildered by the creature's size, exclaiming "Dah macam Komodo dah" (looks like a Komodo dragon)
They were surprised that passersby were brave enough to walk past the reptile without any fear.
The creature, restless and flailing its tail around, appeared to be a Komodo dragon to them.

The reptile's mouth appeared to be bleeding, which shocked the TikTok user and left them wondering why
They floated several theories, questioning whether the creature had eaten something unusual, sustained an injury, or simply bitten into something.
As she drove off, the user expressed amazement over the creature's humongous size.

Many comments were confused by the mention of "Komodo dragon", but the TikTok user later clarified that she only said it in the heat of the moment

The animal is actually an Asian water monitor lizard, as Komodo dragons only exist in Indonesia
Komodo dragons are the largest lizards in the world and are only found on a few Indonesian islands.
Asian water monitor lizards are smaller, more common, and can be found across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Thailand.
Although both are monitor lizards, Komodo dragons are a different species and are much more powerful and dangerous than Asian Water Monitors.
