A young couple's joy turned into a nightmare when their newborn daughter was allegedly swapped with a baby boy
Muhammad Harraz Haziq, 24, said his wife gave birth on 7 April. The baby was later sent to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
The infant remained at the hospital for jaundice treatment. At 5am on 9 April, a nurse reportedly placed a baby into the incubator in the ward.

An hour later, the wife was shocked to find they had been given a boy instead. Muhammad Harraz claimed the nurses initially doubted his statement.
"They [nurses] questioned and asked me back, is it true my child is a girl?" he told Harian Metro.
However, he said he had a photo of the birth confirmation form as proof.
The daughter was eventually found later that day, but confusion over the alleged incident remains.
Muhammad Harraz said he was puzzled as to how both infants could be wearing his wife's identification tag, describing the alleged incident as a serious case of negligence
He added that he tried to seek answers from the medical team but claimed they avoided him, and that he was unable to reach the doctor in charge for clarification.
The father has since filed a police report on 10 April, saying he wants a transparent explanation from the hospital to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
