Starting 19 August, Firefly's jet operations from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport are moving to KLIA Terminal 1
This means if you're taking one of Firefly's Boeing 737-800 jets, you'll need to head to KLIA instead of Subang.
However, according to its statement today, 30 July, Firefly's turboprop flights, which serve shorter, regional routes using ATR aircraft, will still operate out of Subang. So, for destinations like Penang or Alor Setar, it's business as usual.

According to Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the move is part of its long-term optimisation strategy. By relocating jet operations to KLIA, Firefly can better leverage MAG's shared services in areas like engineering, ground handling, and catering.
"This decision reinforces our commitment to strengthening KLIA Terminal 1 as the main aviation hub," said MAG group managing director Izham Ismail.

With its new hub in KLIA, Firefly has also announced these new jet routes:
– 19 August – KLIA to Tawau
– 21 August – KLIA to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu
– 22 August – KLIA to Singapore
– 23 August – KLIA to Johor Bahru
– 30 August – KLIA to Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu
– 3 September – KLIA to Sibu
According to FMT, Firefly is also ramping up its KLIA–Penang frequency from twice a week to six times weekly starting 23 August, with plans to hit 10 weekly flights by November.
