A woman from China has been sentenced to over five years in prison for selling her two biological sons to fund her addiction to tipping livestream hosts and buying extravagant clothes

According to South China Morning Post, the woman, identified as Huang, even conceived her second child solely for the purpose of selling him.

Huang, an adopted child with limited education, left home early in life.

She gave birth to her first son in October 2020 but, facing severe financial hardship and no known father, was unable to care for him

She resorted to selling her firstborn for a significant sum.

The money obtained from the sale of her children was entirely spent on tipping livestream personalities and purchasing expensive clothing for herself.

When her funds were depleted, Huang took extreme measures, actively seeking out men to conceive another child to sell for profit.

In 2022, Huang gave birth to her second son, Guyu.

She then sold him to a broker for 38,000 yuan (approximately RM22,600), who subsequently resold the baby for 103,000 yuan (around RM61,100).

Huang reportedly spent all the proceeds on more livestream tips and luxury items.

Authorities were alerted to Huang's activities on 13 April 2022, following a report of suspected fraud. A police investigation uncovered chat records on her mobile phone detailing the sale of children.

Another individual, Li, received a nine-month suspended sentence for purchasing a trafficked child, while the woman's landlord, who had introduced the clients, was jailed for seven months.
