A woman who falsely claimed that Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and the principal of SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha are cousins has now feigned ignorance of the legal consequences of spreading rumours
In a Facebook post earlier this morning, 10 September, the woman, Noor Ramzilaa, admitted to sharing unverified information.
"I want to apologise to Education Minister YB Fadhlina Sidek for my comment falsely claiming she was cousins with Zara's school principal," she wrote.
"Without checking, I immediately commented like that on Facebook. Everything I commented came from Jufazli Shi Ahmad's livestream and from screen recordings people shared on TikTok. I truly did not know that my comment could lead to legal action."
She added that she regretted her actions and promised not to repeat them.

Noor had earlier alleged that Fadhlina and the principal were first cousins, claiming their mothers are sisters, and accused them of colluding in the case of the late Zara Qairina, who was a student at the school.
She framed it as "nepotism" while responding to another Facebook user's query, insisting, "Yes, this information is authentic."

The woman's apology comes a day after Fadhlina lodged a police report yesterday, 9 September
In a Facebook post last night, Fadhlina shared that she had lodged reports with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) amid "many wild and malicious slanders".
"Simply dismissing and denying has not been enough of a lesson. This slander has even dragged in my late mother, who is no longer alive to defend herself," she wrote.
Fadhlina also urged the public not to speculate and to respect Zara Qairina's family, saying that justice must be pursued "on the axis of truth".
In her post, the minister shared screenshots of Noor Ramzilaa's comments, in which she suggested that Fadhlina's alleged collusion was the reason the principal had not been detained.
