A 21-year-old woman in South Korea was charged with murder after investigators said she allegedly used ChatGPT to research how to kill people using a combination of drugs and alcohol
According to the BBC, the suspect, identified only as Kim, was accused of poisoning two men in their 20s at separate motels in Seoul.
Seoul police revealed that an analysis of Kim's mobile phone showed she had repeatedly asked the AI chatbot about the dangers of combining sedatives with liquor.
According to investigators, she asked the bot questions such as, "What happens if you take sleeping pills with alcohol?" and "Could it kill someone?"

While Kim admitted to lacing the victims' drinks with benzodiazepines, she initially claimed she did not know the combination would be fatal
However, officials stated that her search history proved she was "fully aware that consuming alcohol together with drugs could result in death".
The investigation suggested that Kim's first attempt occurred in December last year when she gave a drug-laced drink to her partner in a car park.
After he survived the incident, police believed Kim began preparing drinks with significantly higher doses of the medication.

The first fatal encounter took place on 28 January in a Suyu-dong motel, where a man died the following day
Using the same method, Kim allegedly killed another victim on 9 February, leading to her arrest on 11 February.
Police are currently investigating if there are additional victims linked to the 21-year-old.
Kim remains in custody as authorities continue to piece together the timeline of her alleged crimes.
