A small explosion early yesterday morning, 22 December, in a Nilai commercial area injured at least one person and led police to discover three suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
Residents of a local apartment were shaken as the blast scattered nails across the parking area.
Nilai district deputy police chief Mohamad Asiff Jamaldin said police received an emergency call at about 6.30am and rushed to the scene.
"Upon arrival, our team found many nails on the road and several vehicles damaged by shrapnel near one of the blocks," he was quoted as saying.
The fire department helped secure the area and assist the investigation, while authorities continue examining the scene and identifying the explosive device.

Initial witness accounts indicate that the explosion originated from a vehicle
Following the initial blast, police discovered a second bomb, which was safely detonated.
Officers also uncovered a large quantity of explosives hidden in a unit on the upper floor of a shoplot within the same commercial complex.
"Subsequently, a search was conducted at houses near the scene, and three objects suspected to be IEDs were found in one of the houses," Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said in a statement.
"About 250m from the site, police located the vehicle believed to have caused the explosion, and examination of the vehicle revealed several items, including materials suspected to have triggered the blast."
Further searches led police to a residence believed to be linked to the suspects, where materials commonly used to make homemade explosive devices were found.
He added that efforts to track down the suspects are ongoing and warned the public not to speculate in ways that could hinder the investigation.

Preliminary investigations suggest the device may have been accidentally detonated by a suspect, who subsequently fled the scene
Blood stains found at the location are believed to be linked to the incident, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Police have increased patrols in and around the area to ensure no additional devices remain and to safeguard public safety.
"Efforts to locate those behind the explosion are ongoing. The public is advised not to speculate on the matter as this may interfere with investigations," Alzafny said, urging anyone with information to assist the police.
The case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Explosive Substances Act and Section 435 of the Penal Code.
