Video Shows Man Pretending To Ask For Directions Before Snatching Elderly Woman’s Car
The suspect allegedly approached the woman at a supermarket car park in Kulai before grabbing her keys and fleeing with her Perodua Viva.

A man allegedly pretended to ask an elderly woman for directions before snatching her car keys and driving off with her vehicle at a supermarket car park in Taman Putri, Kulai
Kulai district police chief ACP Tan Seng Lee said the incident occurred at about 3.15pm on 21 February, when the woman, in her 70s, parked her dark blue Perodua Viva and was walking towards the supermarket entrance.
According to him, the suspect, believed to be a man wearing a face mask, approached the victim under the pretext of asking for directions.
"The suspect then seized the car keys from the victim before fleeing with her vehicle," he said in a statement.
"As a result of the incident, the victim lost her car and suffered losses of approximately RM5,000."

The incident, which was captured on CCTV, showed the suspect briefly engaging the victim in conversation before suddenly lunging to snatch her keys
After a short struggle, he drove off with the vehicle.
The footage also shows the woman visibly shaken as the suspect speeds away, while several nearby individuals react only moments later as the car disappears.
Tan added that the case is being investigated under Section 392 and Section 379A of the Penal Code.
"If convicted, the offender can be sentenced to imprisonment of up to 14 years and a fine or whipping.
"Meanwhile, for the offence under Section 379a of the Penal Code, the offender can be punished with imprisonment of one to seven years, and may also be fined," he said.
