A man caught on video aggressively ramming a Perodua Axia pleaded guilty to committing mischief and driving dangerously at the Johor Bahru Magistrate's Court today, 25 June
The accused, Muhammad Firdaus Abdullah, an unemployed father of seven, was slapped with two separate charges, one for ramming the car and another for driving without due care and attention, endangering other road users.
The 50-year-old was fined RM13,000.
Both charges stem from a road rage incident that occurred at 3.10pm on Sunday, 22 June, at Susur 6, Jalan Tun Razak. A video of the incident went viral.

Firdaus, who was visibly emotional in court, pleaded for leniency, saying he was jobless and had to provide for his wife and seven children
"I deeply regret what I did and I promise not to do it again," he said tearfully.
However, deputy public prosecutors Nik Noratini Nik Azman and Amirah Tasnim Saleh urged the court to impose a sentence that reflected the seriousness of the incident, citing the damage caused and public interest involved.
Before Magistrate Atifah Hazimah Wahab, Firdaus admitted to deliberately ramming the victim's black Perodua Axia, causing an estimated RM15,300 in damage.
For this, he was charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to five years, a fine, or both. The court fined him RM7,500, with 12 months' imprisonment in default.
He was also fined RM5,500 under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 by Magistrate Nur Fatin Mohamad Farid for reckless driving, and faces six months' jail if he fails to pay.
During the road rage incident, he was seen driving a Toyota Hilux and reversing into a Perodua Axia three times before speeding away
He was arrested at 6.30pm on 23 June in Jalan Langkasuka.
Investigations revealed he had hit the Axia once from the rear and twice from the front, before fleeing the scene.
He has seven prior criminal records, no outstanding warrants, and tested negative for drugs.
