About 500 Ultras Malaya, Malaysian football team supporters, gathered in front of the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur last night, 2 October, to show solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF)

According to Berita Harian, the group was seen lighting flares, waving Palestine flags, and chanting 'Israel B*ngsat' during the rally.

They began their march from the Ampang Park LRT station at 9pm, heading towards the US Embassy.

Police were present to maintain order and ensure no untoward incidents occurred. Traffic along the routes towards Sungai Besi and Jalan Pahang was reported to be congested.

Earlier that afternoon, thousands of Malaysians had also gathered at the US Embassy for the same cause

The rally began around 3.45pm outside The Linc KL shopping centre on Jalan Tun Razak, where participants marched to the embassy carrying banners with slogans such as "Down with Israel" and "Reject Zionists", while chanting "Free Palestine", reported the New Straits Times.

Upon arrival, five representatives, including Keadilan Youth chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim and former education minister Dr Maszlee Malik, approached the gates to submit a memorandum.

Citing security concerns, embassy officials declined to meet the delegation, but the document was accepted at a designated collection point.

Kamil said the memorandum outlined three key demands:

  • The immediate release of all volunteers detained during the Global Sumud Flotilla mission
  • The US to use its influence on Israel to ensure safe passage for aid ships carrying food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies into Gaza waters
  • Washington to review its statements on Gaza's reconstruction to better reflect Palestinian aspirations and prevent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from undermining ongoing peace efforts

He added that organisers estimated over 5,000 people participated in yesterday's rally, with an even larger turnout expected for another gathering scheduled after Friday prayers today, 3 October.
