Anwar Condemns Israel’s Interception Of Gaza-Bound Global Sumud Flotilla

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has strongly condemned Israel's interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying unarmed civilians and humanitarian aid to Gaza

In a statement on Facebook today, 2 October, Anwar described the flotilla as a symbol of "solidarity, compassion, and the hope of relief" for Palestinians under blockade, but said it was instead met with "intimidation and coercion".

"By blocking a humanitarian mission, Israel has shown utter contempt not only for the rights of the Palestinian people but also for the conscience of the world," he said.

Anwar vowed that Malaysia would use "all legitimate and lawful means" to hold Israel accountable, noting that Malaysian citizens were among those on board

"The safety and dignity of our people are paramount, and we will not allow them to be compromised with impunity," he stressed.

Earlier this morning, the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) said it had lost contact with 13 Malaysians after Israeli forces boarded several ships as the convoy neared the Gaza coast.
