The Global Sumud Flotilla, which departed Spain on 31 August, is the largest maritime mission to Gaza to date

Comprising more than 50 ships and hundreds of activists from over 44 countries, the flotilla aims to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians by sea.

Livestreams from activists earlier today showed tense scenes as Israeli forces surrounded and intercepted the convoy as it neared Gaza's shores.

According to SNCC, nine vessels are currently flagged as "under attack", while 13 others have sent distress signals.
