A total of 31 people, including six underage boys, were nabbed in a nationwide crackdown on the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

Dubbed 'Op Pedo Bersepadu', the operation saw 880,000 CSAM and adult pornographic materials seized in 37 raids, carried out from 22 to 30 September, according to the New Straits Times.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said among those arrested were six minors, the youngest being a 12-year-old found with thousands of files of CSAM and explicit materials.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old, allegedly earned RM76,000 selling sexually illicit materials he sourced online.

According to Mohd Khalid, those arrested come from diverse backgrounds, including teachers, engineers, and religious teachers

He described it as a betrayal of public trust.

The 880,000 CSAM materials found reportedly marked a 20-fold increase from last year's crackdown under the same operation, launched on 23 December 2024.

Last year's raids saw 40,000 digital files seized by authorities, as well as the arrests of 13 suspects aged between 20 and 74.
