A routine motorbike ride turned tragic for a 17-year-old student in Teluk Intan, Perak after a sickle carried by another motorcyclist slashed his neck
According to Harian Metro, the student, who attended Teluk Intan Agricultural Vocational College, died at the scene yesterday, 9 March.
The incident occurred at Batu 4, Kampung Selabak, when a long-handled sickle carried by another motorcyclist slashed the victim's neck.
According to Hilir Perak district police chief ACP Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin, the two motorbikes were in close proximity when the tool struck the victim
The victim fell onto the road immediately after the impact and succumbed to severe neck injuries.
His 18-year-old friend, who was also on the motorcycle, sustained hand injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Following the incident, police detained two foreign men, aged 39 and 52
Authorities also seized several items related to the case, including the long-handled sickle and the motorcycles involved.
The case is being investigated under Section 304(A) of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence.
Both men have been brought to the Teluk Intan Magistrate's Court for further proceedings.
