Police have raided a spa at a mall on Jalan Loke Yew, uncovering it as a front for illegal sex services and gambling

According to the New Straits Times, the spa, which opened earlier this month and operated as a licensed wellness centre, was busted in a raid at 3.15am yesterday, 22 July.

According to acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, 54 individuals between the ages of 19 and 54 were arrested during the operation.

These individuals included both men and women of various nationalities, including locals, Bangladeshi, Chinese, and Myanmar nationals.

The foreign women were hired as guest relations officers (GROs) and allegedly charged clients RM1,700 for sexual services

A local woman allegedly organised the gambling sessions, and seven individuals — three locals and four Chinese nationals — were caught gambling during the raid.

Police said the spa was the main business, while gambling activities were meant for the owner's business associates only.

Only walk-in customers were allowed to request massages or sexual services.

Items such as condoms, lubricants, and gambling paraphernalia were also seized by the police. All confiscated items, along with the detained individuals, have since been taken to the Cheras police headquarters.
