A Singapore woman has been accused of pressuring her daughter to withdraw a rape case against her stepfather
The 34-year-old woman was charged on 4 February with attempting to pervert the course of justice, the Straits Times reported.
She allegedly told her daughter she could get anything she wanted if it meant they could be "one happy family" again.
All parties' names have been redacted under a gag order to protect the victim's identity.

Authorities began investigating him for aggravated rape after the daughter came forward.
The woman allegedly conveyed a message from him to the victim, demanding she withdraw the case, in addition to telling police she had made a false statement.
She allegedly pressured her daughter again in 2023 to drop the case, claiming she would only face a two-year stay at a "girls' home" if she complied.
She reportedly warned that refusing would land her stepfather in prison for 20 to 30 years.

The outcome of the rape charge has not been made public, while the mother is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on 11 March.
She is facing three charges of perverting the course of justice, each carrying a potential seven-year prison sentence, a fine, or both.
