Bukit Aman CID deputy director (intelligence/operations) Datuk Fadil Marsus said the suspect attempted to flee arrest by driving against traffic and ramming into a police vehicle, prompting officers to open fire.
The teen was abducted on 10 April around 5.45pm, with the kidnappers demanding a RM2 million ransom. She was later released in Sendayan at 8.30pm on Friday, 11 April, after her family paid RM280,000 and handed over several pieces of jewellery, according to the New Straits Times.
"The Proton Wira used to release the victim matches the one the suspect was driving when [he was] shot [dead in Bandar Bukit Tinggi]," Fadil told reporters at the scene.

A pistol and a machete were found inside the suspect's vehicle
Police have since arrested six other individuals in connection with the kidnapping, including three women aged between 20 and 31. None of the suspects, including the deceased, had prior criminal records.
Fadil said further details, including the amount of ransom money and jewellery recovered, will be announced later by the CID director or Selangor police chief.
For now, he confirmed that the case is considered solved.
