Security Guard Shoots Dead Knife-Wielding Robber At PJ Jewellery Shop

The suspect was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital.

A knife-wielding robber was shot dead by a security guard at a jewellery store in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, yesterday, 16 March

According to the New Straits Times, the suspect arrived at the store in Section 14 at around 11am.

At the time, there were no customers inside, and the suspect reportedly got into a struggle with a security guard.

Seeing that his colleague had been injured, a second security guard fired two shots, neutralising the suspect.

The suspect was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead

No jewellery was reported missing at the store, and the suspect's body has been sent for a post-mortem.

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the case is currently being investigated under Sections 392/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery, as well as Section 39 of the Arms Act for discharging a firearm.
