A Malaysian man suffered deep cuts and bled from under his eyes after a glass-coated kite string struck his face while he was riding
The disturbing photos, which have gone viral, show the bloody aftermath of the incident that could have easily blinded him.
According to a viral Facebook post shared by Amazing Sarawak on 26 September, the man was believed to be riding his motorcycle along the Easy Go Pujut Bypass in Miri, Sarawak, when he was struck by the glass-coated string.

Four photos in the post show the immediate aftermath of the incident and the man receiving treatment in hospital
The first two images show the man in a yellow work jumpsuit, sitting by the roadside with blood covering his face and multiple cuts across his nose, cheeks, and mouth. He still had his motorcycle helmet on, indicating he was riding when the incident happened.
The remaining two images show him lying in a hospital bed with an IV drip, as a woman attends to him. His face is seen heavily bandaged across the nose and under the eyes, a clear sign of the extensive treatment his injuries required.

The Facebook post warned others to be cautious of dangerous glass-coated kite strings in the area
Glass-coated strings, commonly used in kite fighting, are illegal in many parts of Malaysia due to their potential to cause serious injuries or even death, especially to motorcyclists. Despite repeated warnings and crackdowns, such incidents continue to be reported in various states.
In July this year, a motorcyclist was left injured and shaken after a kite string slashed his neck while he was riding past Taman Tasik Metropolitan Kepong.
