Controversial Malaysian rapper Wee Meng Chee, popularly known as Namewee, will remain in police custody for another three days to assist with the investigation into the death of a Taiwanese influencer
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus Fadil confirmed the remand extension, which will last until 13 November, in a brief statement today, 10 November, reported the New Straits Times.
The move comes after Dang Wangi police chief ACP Sazalee Adam said yesterday, 9 November, that the extension was sought to facilitate further inquiries into the death of Hsieh Yu-hsin, also known as Iris Hsieh, at a hotel in the city last month.
Hsieh, known as the "Nurse Goddess" due to her nursing degree and OnlyFans account, was found dead in the bathroom of the hotel room on Jalan Conlay on 22 October.
Namewee, 42, was reportedly in the same room at the time.

Namewee's lawyer, Joshua Teh, said the extension was requested because the investigation is not yet complete
"The police are conducting further inquiries, and we hope the investigation will be concluded soon so that my client can be released," he said.
The lawyer told reporters that Namewee maintains his innocence.
"Yes, of course," he said when asked if his client insists he is not guilty.
When pressed about Namewee's involvement in the case, the lawyer reiterated that he could not comment on whether Namewee is the sole suspect, leaving that determination to the police.
According to police reports, when Namewee discovered Hsieh unconscious in the bathtub, he attempted CPR before calling for medical assistance. He claimed that he was at the hotel with Hsieh to discuss a video project.
Police reportedly seized nine blue pills believed to be ecstasy at the scene, and Namewee's initial urine test returned positive for four types of drugs.
On 24 October, he was charged with two drug-related offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act, including possession and abuse. He was released on RM4,000 bail, with his next court appearance set for 18 December.
