Murder Charge Against Maniishapriet’s Alleged Killer Postponed Pending AG’s Instructions

The murder charge against the main suspect in the death of 20-year-old University of Cyberjaya student Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara has been postponed
According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, police are awaiting further instructions from the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).
"It has been put on hold pending further instruction from the AGC," the New Straits Times quoted him as saying yesterday, 7 July.
He added that further updates would be announced soon.

However, Sepang police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman told reporters last night, 7 July, that the case had been postponed to a date yet to be set.
The suspect is one of four individuals arrested in connection with the case last month.
He, along with two women, were remanded until 3 July, before the order was extended to 10 July to facilitate further investigation.

The suspect had allegedly stayed at the dorm unit, using an access card and keys given to him by his girlfriend
She had returned to her hometown after completing her examinations, leaving the suspect with access to the unit where the murder occurred.
According to police, the suspect struck Maniishapriet with a blunt object, resulting in fatal head injuries, and stole several of her belongings, including her laptop, iPhone, and ATM card.
