9 Arrested After Motorcycle Noise Sparks Brawl

Nine men were arrested after a brawl broke out at a roadside food stall, allegedly caused by the noise of a motorcycle engine

According to the New Straits Times, the loud noise, caused by the revving of a suspect's motorcycle disturbed diners and nearby residents, leading to the fight.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10.30pm last Sunday, 26 October in Rengit, Johor.

A video of the brawl has since gone viral.

Tables, chairs and helmets were used as weapons in the ensuing scuffle.

Several patrons tried to stop the fight, but to no avail. One person can be heard telling the men to leave the premises.

Several brawlers can be seen wearing red T-shirts labelled 'B7 Group', though it remains unclear what its significance is.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said police nabbed nine men between 18 and 35 at 12.10am the following day.

They have been remanded for four days to assist in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting

If convicted, the charge carries a five-year jail term, a fine, or both.

No serious injuries were reported, but several items at the stall were damaged.
