A mother and her boyfriend have been arrested for allegedly abusing her 15-month-old baby girl, leading to the child's death
According to Harian Metro, authorities were alerted to the incident after the baby was brought to Hospital Tampin unconscious by her mother about 11pm.
Doctors who examined the baby reportedly discovered bruises on her stomach, back, and anus, prompting them to lodge a police report.
"Initial investigations revealed that the woman had taken her child from Kampung Anak Air Durian Daun Pondoi, Tampin to her 20-year-old boyfriend's workplace in Bandar Satelit, Pulau Sebang at about 6.30pm yesterday.
"The woman then went out to buy food and left the baby with her boyfriend, who is a musician," said a source.
The mother later allegedly put the baby to bed at 10pm, while her boyfriend stayed on to manage the shop.

"The couple then rushed the baby to Tampin Hospital for treatment at 11pm. The doctors found signs of injury on the baby and confirmed that she had died," the source said.
The body was taken to the forensic unit in Hospital Tampin for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Melaka Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Leow Kian Heong confirmed with Harian Metro that a report had been lodged regarding the incident.
He said the couple will be remanded following an application at the Alor Gajah Magistrate's Court today, 7 July.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
