The attack took place in Taman Bandar Baru, Kampar. Initial investigations suggest it occurred in the living room of their double-storey home.
Kampar police chief Supt Mohamad Nazri Daud said the authorities received a report from the injured woman at around 7.35pm.

The suspect, currently unemployed, reportedly stabbed his 22-year-old son three times on the left side of his neck. His sister, 56, was also struck in the same area.
"Both victims are currently in critical condition and have been referred to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here for further treatment," Mohamad Nazri said.
The incident was reportedly triggered by the suspect, who was experiencing hallucinations.
The man had previously undergone psychiatric treatment at Hospital Fatimah in Ipoh
While the victims are fighting for their lives, the suspect sustained an injury to his left palm during the struggle.
He has since been referred to Hospital Tanjung Rambutan for further assessment.
