As temperatures continue to soar, many Malaysians are sharing photos of their everyday items damaged after being left in the heat
Malaysians have been sharing photos online showing cards, slippers, and even makeup getting warped after being left in hot environments.
It started with a viral Threads post by user @lltlps, who shared a photo of her cragged payment card after leaving it in her car.
"It's so hot in Perak that my card melted in the car. Luckily, it still worked just now," she wrote.
Speaking to SAYS, the netizen from Gerik, Perak said she had only left the card in her car for about a day. On that day, temperatures in the state reportedly reached 38°C.

Her post has since gained over 600,000 views and more than 11,000 likes, with many Malaysians joining in to share similar experiences
Some said their items didn't even last an hour.
"Weh, I accidentally left my lipstick in the car and it wasn't even an hour before it melted. It's crazy hot," one user shared.

Another user from Sepang joked that their card had also suffered the same fate.

"Wait, I'll post mine after work. My card also already looks like kerepek, HAHAHA," another said.

Meanwhile, others said even their slippers couldn't survive the heat.
"We were surprised. Wanted to go out and suddenly realised our slippers had shrunk hahaha," one netizen wrote.

Another said a newly bought pair became unusable after just one day outside.
"I just bought them from MR DIY. I left them outside from morning until evening and when I wore them again, they were already deformed and smaller," they said.

One person even joked the heat gave them "custom-fit" footwear.
"It's so hot that the slippers I wore immediately moulded to the shape of my feet," they wrote, sharing a photo showing clear toe imprints.

With temperatures remaining high in many parts of Malaysia, this might be a good reminder to avoid leaving plastic items, bank cards, cosmetics, and electronics inside parked cars, where temperatures can become significantly higher than outside.
