A Chinese tourist has claimed that her travelling companion was assaulted by a Malaysian couple after they refused to pay the couple RM836 for a ride from KLIA

According to China Press, the tourists were at KLIA Terminal 2 looking for a bus to their hotel when a man offered them a ride for RM60.

However, when they arrived at their destination, the man drove past the hotel and pressured them into paying RM836 for the ride instead

When the tourists protested, the man's wife shouted that "they had to follow her rules" and locked the car doors to prevent them from escaping.

Eventually, the driver stopped at the hotel and hotel staff intervened after seeing the tourists bang on the car windows and scream for help.

As the tourists escaped, the driver's wife came down to confront outside the car, accusing them of cheating her and stealing her phone and demanding compensation

A physical altercation ensued, with the tourist claiming that her companion was slapped three times by the driver's wife.

A passerby tried to intervene, and was also allegedly choked by the driver.

When police were finally called, the driver and his wife fled.

A video of the incident has surfaced online, with netizens advising tourists to avoid illegal taxis and report such cases to the authorities.
