The office of P Nation, the entertainment company founded by K-pop star Psy, has been raided over suspicious drug prescriptions

South Korean outlet Yonhap News reported that the singer-rapper, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, has been under police investigation for allegedly receiving psychotropic drug prescriptions remotely from third parties.

These actions violate the South Korean Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, which states that controlled substances must be prescribed after a face-to-face consultation with a licensed medical professional.

The Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul conducted the raid on 4 December, targeting P Nation's offices and vehicles.

Police have also reportedly seized Psy's cell phone to obtain evidence of remote drug prescriptions, which were allegedly picked up by his manager and other third parties.

Police are reportedly considering summoning Psy for questioning.

In August 2025, Seoul police raided a university hospital following a tip-off on suspicious circumstances related to the allegations

A university doctor has also allegedly been implicated in the investigation.

Reportedly, Psy had been obtaining prescriptions for the psychotropic drugs Xanax and Stilnox, which are used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, and sleep disorders.

However, the drugs also have a moderate-to-high risk of causing dependency and addiction.

P Nation has denied any wrongdoing, saying Psy was diagnosed with a chronic sleep disorder and was following a prescribed treatment plan

The company, which was founded by Psy after his departure from YG Entertainment, said in a statement that Psy received remote medical consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued doing so afterwards due to his demanding schedule.

While P Nation acknowledged oversight in collecting medications on his behalf, it maintains that there were no instances of illegal prescriptions.

It has pledged to cooperate with police on the investigation.

The hospital has refrained from giving a comment, while Psy's doctor has also reportedly denied allegations of wrongdoing.

Psy is most famous for his 2012 single Gangnam Style, which became a viral pop culture sensation worldwide.
