Two decomposed bodies were found inside a rented double-storey house in Setia Alam on Sunday, 8 February, after the woman's father raised concerns following weeks of no contact
The bodies, believed to be those of a man and a woman in their 30s, were discovered at a house in Jalan Setia Indah after the woman's father went there following repeated failed attempts to contact his daughter.
Speaking at the scene, the man told the New Straits Times that he had tried calling his daughter numerous times over the past two weeks, but his calls went unanswered. Growing increasingly worried, he also made several trips to the house, calling out for her and her boyfriend from outside.
"Each visit was unsuccessful. I had called out to her and her boyfriend, with no success. Their shoes at the door also appeared undisturbed.
"I thought they had run away," he was quoted as saying.
The situation took a turn when the landlord contacted him earlier yesterday, after the couple failed to pay rent. The landlord, accompanied by a security guard and the woman's father, went to the house to check on the pair, who had been renting the house for about three months.

The father said his daughter was found lying motionless on the bed, while her boyfriend's body was found on the floor
Both bodies were already in a state of decomposition.
Police were alerted shortly after. At this stage, the case is not believed to involve foul play, reported the English daily.
Neighbours, however, told reporters that the couple were frequently involved in loud arguments.
One resident, 31-year-old bank manager Muhammad Iman Mukhraman Ramli, said the couple's disputes could often be heard at all hours, both inside and outside the house.
He said the arguments suddenly stopped about two weeks ago, which raised questions among nearby residents.
Iman said he had even asked his wife whether the occupants had moved out, as the house had gone quiet after being noisy for months. They initially assumed the couple had left, possibly after complaints from neighbours.

Suspicion only grew a few days ago when a foul smell began emanating from the house
Iman said his wife noticed the stench while doing laundry at the back of their home and initially thought it was a dead animal. It never crossed their minds that there were bodies inside the house.
He said he was later approached by police after officers arrived at the location and began speaking to residents as part of their investigation.
