A 71-year-old man has died after being hit by a 19-year-old driver in Bayan Lepas, Penang
According to the New Straits Times, the incident occurred at 2.55pm on 1 April when the victim was crossing Jalan Tun Dr Awang at a zebra crossing.
He was struck by a Honda City that failed to slow down, sending his body flying.
Northeast district deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake confirmed the case, saying the victim was rushed to Penang Hospital for treatment following the crash.

Lee added that the driver was not injured in the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
The case is currently being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to RM20,000. Their driving licence may also be suspended for no less than three years.
