Woman’s Body Found Decomposing In Bentong Oil Palm Plantation

Several items believed to belong to the woman were also found near the location.

A decomposing body of a woman was found in an oil palm plantation in Pahang on Tuesday, 4 November

According to Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman, the body was found at Batu 19, Jalan Karak-Kuala Pilah, Telemong.

Bernama quoted Yahaya as saying that the police were alerted to the corpse by a member of the public at around 5pm.

Initial investigations at the location found that the body belonged to an Indonesian woman in her 40's, The Star reported.

Yahaya added that three Pahang police teams were deployed to the location for further investigations

They comprised the Bentong District Police Headquarters, along with a forensic team, the K9 Unit (Detection Dog Unit), and the Pahang Contingent Criminal Investigation Department.

Alongside the decomposing body, police also found several belongings believed to belong to the victim

"Several items believed to belong to the woman were also found near the location, including a pair of green sports pants, a Casio brand wristwatch, a pair of black slippers, and a black hoodie," Yahaya said.

He added that the body was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for a post-mortem.

The case has been classified as sudden death pending the post-mortem report.
