A road accident in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, has drawn attention online after multiple-angle video footage showed a motorcyclist abruptly cutting across traffic lanes before being struck by an oncoming car
The incident reportedly took place in Billion Langgar, Kota Bharu, at around 1pm yesterday, 12 January.
Footage recorded from different angles shows a white Perodua Kancil travelling straight toward an intersection, maintaining its speed as it proceeds through a green traffic light.
At the same time, a motorcyclist is seen already positioned near the junction in another lane. The rider suddenly swerves across multiple lanes to attempt a right-hand turn.
As the motorcyclist moves laterally across the intersection, they enter the direct path of the Kancil, which has the right-of-way to continue straight.
With little time to react, the driver is unable to stop before colliding with the motorcycle.

Several bystanders immediately rush forward to assist following the crash.
Based on the video sequence, the collision appears to have been caused by the motorcyclist's sudden and unsafe manoeuvre.
The footage has since circulated on social media, prompting discussions about reckless lane-cutting and intersection safety.
According to netizens, cutting across multiple lanes in a single move, failing to yield to oncoming traffic going straight, and attempting a turn from a non-designated lane are all high-risk actions that significantly reduce reaction time for other road users.
