Chinese singer-actor Zhang Yiyang was recently revealed to have been executed last year after stabbing his 16-year-old girlfriend to death
According to China News Asia, his execution only became public in July 2025, according to an investigation report by the Intermediate People's Court of Xianyang City, Shaanxi province, which also detailed the events leading up to Zhang's arrest.

The singer, who was 30 at the time, got into a breakup-related argument with the girl that ended with Zhang fatally stabbing her in the neck multiple times with a folding knife.
After disposing of his clothes and her phone in a reservoir, he checked into a hotel with the intent to take his own life. However, hotel staff intervened and called police, who subsequently arrested Zhang.
