A recent viral video shows a Chinese tourist being removed from a Malaysia Airlines flight following allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward a flight attendant
The incident occurred earlier this week.
According to the footage and social media reports, the male passenger was accused of "getting handsy" or inappropriately touching a female flight attendant. Some reports specify that he patted her waist.
In the video, the passenger can be seen arguing with Malaysia Airlines cabin crew and Aviation Security (AVSEC) officers.
He attempted to downplay the incident, claiming he only "lightly tapped her twice" and that it shouldn't be a reason to kick him off the plane.
"It was just two light pats and now I'm not allowed on the flight?"
In a moment that many commenters found absurd, the man invoked international diplomacy to defend himself, stating in Mandarin, "China-Malaysia relations are very good", implying that his status as a tourist from a "friendly nation" should grant him leniency.
In the video, the flight attendant remained firm, telling him that regardless of the airport or the country, his behaviour was unacceptable.
Despite his protests and the fact that he was travelling with a tour group, security officers eventually escorted him off the aircraft to ensure the safety and comfort of the crew and other passengers.

The video has sparked significant discussion online
Many praised the airline staff and security for their professional and firm handling of the situation.
Many also criticised the passenger's attempt to use "diplomatic ties" as a shield for personal misconduct, noting that "good relations" do not excuse harassment.
