Another victim of the fatal crash at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza has died, bringing the death toll to two
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed that 48-year-old civil servant Mohd Hafizi Anuar was pronounced dead at 11am yesterday, 5 October, while receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of Kajang Hospital.
"The victim's body will be handed over to the family once the post-mortem process is completed," Naazron said in a brief statement, adding that the investigation paper is awaiting full reports from the relevant agencies.
The Public Works Department (JKR) confirmed that Hafizi was an employee at its Selangor office. His remains will be brought to his home in Klang, Selangor, after Zohor prayers and laid to rest following Asar.

The crash occurred around 11am on 27 September and involved a three-tonne lorry carrying scrap materials, a Nissan X-Trail belonging to Shah Alam JKR, a Honda City, and a Proton X70
The lorry was travelling from Semenyih to Putrajaya when it allegedly experienced brake failure, prompting the driver to jump out of the vehicle before it ploughed into the three other vehicles at the toll plaza.
A 1-year-old boy trapped under the Nissan X-Trail was extricated at 11.30am but was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
Seven others were injured.

The driver told investigators he had jumped out of the vehicle after its brakes failed.
Checks by the authorities revealed he has three prior drug- and crime-related cases, along with four traffic summonses issued in 2013 and 2016. His urine and alcohol tests on the day of the crash came back negative, Naazron said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death.
Earlier, a dashcam video of the crash went viral, showing the lorry driver jumping out of the vehicle well before the crash
In the video, the dashcam car, travelling at over 100km/h, overtakes the lorry on the highway. As it pulls alongside, the lorry driver's door is seen wide open as the vehicle barrels down the highway at high speed.
The dashcam car continues towards the toll plaza, slowing to under 20km/h as it queues to pass through.
Moments later, the same lorry suddenly appears from the right, speeding out of control. At the 22-second mark, it slams into the vehicles in front and the concrete structure of a SmartTAG lane, sending debris flying.
The aftermath shows debris strewn across the toll plaza as the dashcam vehicle comes to a stop.
