Police said the incident, which occurred on Monday, 8 September, ended with the teenager's arrest

According to Bernama, two mobile patrol officers first spotted the car being driven suspiciously along Jalan Bandar Baru about 6.30pm.

When ordered to stop, the boy accelerated, driving recklessly and even ramming into the patrol vehicle.

Kuala Terengganu deputy police chief Wan Mohd Zaki Wan Ismail said the officers had no choice but to draw their firearm.

"For safety reasons, the officers had to pull out an HK MP5 firearm as a stern warning, which ultimately succeeded in making the suspect stop," he said in a statement on Wednesday, 10 September.

Upon inspection, the boy was driving his brother's car without a licence or permission.

He was issued a summons for the offence, given a stern warning, and later released after his parents were contacted.

The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duty.
