A 13-year-old girl was found dead in Sungai Buloh on Wednesday, 1 April
Sungai Buloh district police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said authorities were alerted when the victim was found unconscious in a residence at 6.27 pm.
A medical officer from Sungai Buloh Hospital confirmed her death on the scene.
Her body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Police are investigating the case under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for abuse
The Act covers alleged abuse, negligence, or exposure of a child to dangerous circumstances.
Three witnesses have given statements amid the investigation, said Mohd Hafiz.
He urged the public not to speculate on the incident and called on anyone with information to come forward to the nearest police station or contact Inspector Muhammad Amirul Amin Shukor.
