History was made over the weekend as Nor Anis Halyatie and her ragdoll cat, Evian, were crowned champions of Malaysia's first-ever Cat Fashion Week on TV3
The pair beat seven other finalists to win the grand prize of RM5,000 and a trophy, in a finale that turned the catwalk into a glittering stage of glamour, drama, and pure feline charm.
Aired on Sunday, 17 August, the show featured eight fabulous 'meow-dels' — Juny, Omey, Goyem, Chibbu, Evian, Winter, Kristoff, and Mocha — strutting down the runway like A-list stars.
From RM5,000 custom outfits to handmade props inspired by fur colours and eye shades, the finale went above and beyond a typical fashion show, showcasing just how far owners would go to celebrate their beloved cats.
Evian impressed the judges with a royalty-inspired look, dressed in a deep-blue velvet robe decorated with gold beads
The outfit, designed by his owner Nor Anis Halyatie, was inspired by his striking blue eyes.
"I never expected to win. I joined just for fun since this was my first competition. But the royalty concept really suits Evian. As for the prize, I might just give him his favourite treat — boiled chicken," said Anis, who has cared for Evian since he was two years old.
The runners-up also melted the hearts of viewers
Runner up Juny, the fluffy queen, wowed the judges in a handmade red gown designed by her owner Nur Farahin's husband. Their performance radiated warmth and love, moving the audience to tears.
In third place, Chibbu and his owner, Sharifah Nurulawwal, transported viewers back to Ancient Egypt with sparkling jewels, desert-themed props, and even two 'handmaidens' accompanying Chibbu for extra drama.
Goyem from Kedah won hearts with a cowboy-themed "secret mission" act, resulting in winning the Special FELIX Award. His owner, Siti Rohani, even recreated the emotional moment she first found him inside a box, a touching nod to their journey together.
The finale was judged by MJMA Academy founder Mohd Jeffrey, singer Mark Adam, performer Shiha Zikir, and fashion designer Rizman Nordin
All four praised the creativity, attention to detail, and above all, the cats' health and grooming. Shiha Zikir even said, "I've never seen anything like this before. It was so fun and I hope it becomes an annual event."
Fashion maestro Rizman admitted it was his first time judging a cat fashion show but called it "a worthwhile experience," being able to witness the extraordinary effort, creativity, and execution of contestants.
