Move over, supermodels — Malaysia's new style icons are furry, fabulous, and ready to strut the catwalk!

Cat Fashion Week is officially clawing its way into history as TV3 launches the first-ever televised cat fashion competition in Malaysia, giving our feline companions the limelight they've always deserved.

It's supported by main sponsor Felix, as well as official media partners Hot FM and SAYS.

Held at TV3's studio in Shah Alam, the semi-final pre-judging round featured 20 of the most stylish cats from across the country. Each kitty came dressed to impress, accompanied by equally charismatic owners who shared the inspiration behind their chosen looks.

From sleek couture to themed accessories, every detail was carefully styled to match each cat's personality. Some cats posed like seasoned models, while others explored the set like it was their second home.

Behind the glitz and glam, owners groomed, dressed, and comforted their cats backstage, whispering words of encouragement and giving cuddles before stepping onto the runway.

The judging panel featured a mix of pet experts and cat-loving celebs

This included:

  • Dr Ima (Dr Salehahtul Khuzaimah) – a veterinarian specialising in small and exotic pets
  • Johan & His Cats – viral content creator and Malaysia's self-proclaimed "Cat King"
  • Yuen Wai – Malaysian representative from The Federation International Feline (FIFe)
  • Mark Adam – singer, actor, and proud cat dad

They weren't just looking at outfits — they were evaluating personality, grooming, the bond between cat and owner, and above all, how comfortable the cats were.

"I was proud to see how the creative and loving the owners were towards their pets. This contest isn't just about fashion, but also about empathy and connection," said Pak Khalid, president of Kelab Kucing Malaysia, who served as judging advisor.

Various breeds of cats took part in Cat Fashion Week, including Persian, British Shorthair, Domestic Long Hair, Ragdoll, Siberian, and more.

From over 100 entries submitted online, only 20 cats made it to the semi-finals — and now, eight have been chosen to advance to the grand finale of Cat Fashion Week.
