MapleStorySEA just announced its latest update, and beyond new content, you could actually win cool prizes!
MapleStorySEA's latest update on 28 January introduces a brand-new Pirate class called Mo Xuan, plus the 'Journey to Jianghu' contest, where lucky winners can snag exclusive Mo Xuan-themed rewards.
First things first, meet Mo Xuan, your not-so-typical Pirate character
Centuries ago, a martial artist named Wu Shen protected the people of Jianghu from monsters. After becoming a Martial God, his spirit was passed down through generations to protect the city of Jianghu, though his memory faded over time.
In the present, Mo Xuan, a student of the Xuanshan Sect, inherits the Martial God's powers. When his sect is destroyed by the enemy, his qi awakens. To restore his sect and protect the city of Jianghu, Mo Xuan embarks on a journey through Maple World, combining Xuanshan's martial arts with Martial God powers. Once fully awakened, he can wield enhanced Qi skills, making him a formidable force in both Sky and Earth combat styles.
In gameplay terms, Mo Xuan fights primarily with Hand Cloths, and can equip Knuckles as a secondary weapon. Players can switch between Sky and Earth attacks to unlock Divine Art skills aligned with each style, creating dynamic combat combos that require strategy and timing — a fresh challenge for both new and returning players.
From 28 January to 21 April, MapleStorySEA players can join the limited-time 'Advent of the War Deity' event
Designed to help Mo Xuan grow, the event rewards participants with unique Mo Xuan-themed cosmetic items, damage skins and visual upgrades, as well as growth-enhancing items to level up faster.
This makes it easier for both new and returning players to hit Level 250 and participate in the contest without feeling left behind.
The ASSEMBLE 3rd Update also introduces the Secret Book of Destiny (Second Destiny) for Level 260+ players. This update allows long-time adventurers to:
- Progress beyond standard leveling
- Strengthen Union Champions for account-wide benefits
- Unlock powerful rewards that prepare characters for future end-game content

With the introduction of the new class, Mo Xuan, and the 'Advent of the War Deity' event, this ensures that both newcomers and veterans have meaningful progression paths and plenty of reasons to dive into Maple World again.
During this same period, the 'Journey to Jianghu' contest will be taking place

STEP 1: Create a Mo Xuan character in MapleStorySEA
STEP 2: Reach Level 250 during the contest period
STEP 3: Post a screenshot or short clip on social media (post/story) using the hashtags #JourneyToJianghu and #MapleStorySEA
STEP 4: Submit your entry via the official Google Form (with IGN) provided on the official campaign page
Rewards include an exclusive Mo Xuan-themed PC or gaming keyboard.
