The couple, whose relationship has long been an open secret among fans and the badminton community, shared the happy news on social media yesterday, 27 March.
Ong, 30, posted photos of his proposal to Ohori, 28, accompanied by a heartfelt message.
"She said YES! We couldn't be happier to share this with the world," he wrote.
"Different nationalities, different cultures, different ways of living… but we've learned to adapt and accept each other's cultures over the years (though we still always quarrel). OUR FOREVER STARTS TODAY!"

In an Instagram Story, the couple also playfully shook their heads while addressing speculation, clarifying that Ohori is not pregnant

Ong and Ohori previously sparked dating rumours after fans spotted them wearing matching shirts at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur last November

According to the New Straits Times, this list includes Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo, China's Lin Dan and Xie Xingfang, Chen Long and Wang Shixian, India's Parupalli Kashyap and Saina Nehwal, Indonesia's Alan Budi Kusuma and Susi Susanti, and England's Chris and Gabrielle Adcock.
Ong, who partners with Teo Ee Yi in men's doubles, is currently ranked No. 33 in the world.
Meanwhile, Ohori, who once reached a career-high ranking of world No. 7 in women's singles, retired after competing in the World Tour Finals last year.
