There are a few things that make the FIFA World Cup feel official: dramatic penalty shootouts, people becoming football experts overnight, and Shakira dropping a tournament anthem
The 49-year-old Colombian superstar officially released a teaser for Dai Dai, the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and fans are already losing it online.
In the one-minute preview shared on her Instagram, Shakira is seen performing at the iconic Maracaná Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, alongside a group of dancers dressed in outfits inspired by various national football teams.
She also revealed that the track features Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy
"From Maracaná Stadium, here is Dai Dai, the @fifaworldcup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We're ready!", she wrote.
The teaser racked up nearly two million likes within 24 hours, with the full song set to drop on 14 May.

This marks her second official World Cup anthem after Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) completely took over the planet during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
To this day, that song still somehow appears at weddings, school sports days, and random mamak playlists during major tournaments.

But her World Cup history actually goes back even further
Shakira previously performed an adapted version of Hips Don't Lie during the 2006 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Germany, and later performed Dare (La La La) during the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
Previous World Cup anthem performers have included stars like Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Nicky Jam, Will Smith, and BTS member Jung Kook.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will officially kick off on 11 June and will be hosted across the US, Mexico, and Canada, with the final set to take place in New York on 19 July.
